What a Direct Neutrino Mass Measurement Might Teach Us about the Dark Sector$${}^{\mathbf{\#}}$$

چکیده
Searches for dark matter suggest that it couples to ordinary only very weakly and possibly through the Higgs or other scalar bosons. On hand, neutrinos might not couple boson directly, but a loop of particles, which would naturally explain small neutrino masses. We demonstrate current experimental constraints on such ‘‘scotogenic’’ scenario allow make linear dependence lightest mass sector-Higgs coupling explicit, so measurement by KATRIN experiment directly determine its value.

What Crossword Puzzles Teach us about Information
This paper studies crossword puzzles as a vehicle for analyzing information in a rigorous yet meaningful fashion. The paper asks, how does information operate in the context of crossword puzzles? A model is proposed that quantifies the difficulty of a puzzle P with respect to its clues. Given a clue-answer pair (c, a), we model the difficulty of guessing a based on c using the conditional proba...
متن کاملWhat Symbionts Teach us about Modularity
The main goal of Synthetic Biology (SB) is to apply engineering principles to biotechnology in order to make life easier to engineer. These engineering principles include modularity: decoupling of complex systems into smaller, orthogonal sub-systems that can be used in a range of different applications. The successful use of modules in engineering is expected to be reproduced in synthetic biolo...
متن کاملWhat visual illusions teach us about schizophrenia
Illusion, namely a mismatch between the objective and perceived properties of an object present in the environment, is a common feature of visual perception, both in normal and pathological conditions. This makes illusion a valuable tool with which to explore normal perception and its impairments. Although still debated, the hypothesis of a modified, and typically diminished, susceptibility to ...
متن کاملWhat can the SNO Neutral Current Rate teach us about the Solar Neutrino Anomaly
We investigate how the anticipated neutral current rate from SNO will sharpen our understanding of the solar neutrino anomaly. Quantitative analyses are performed with representative values of this rate in the expected range of 0.8 − 1.2. This would provide a 5 − 10 σ signal for νe transition into a state containing an active neutrino component. Assuming this state to be purely active one can e...
